Titanium Nitride
Titanium nitride (Also known as “TiN”, “Tinite”, “TiNite” or “TiN”) is an extremely hard ceramic coating used to improve the substrate’s surface properties.

Applied as a thin coating, TiN is used to harden and protects sliding surfaces, it is applied as a coating of less than 5 micrometres (0.00020 in) and will not effect slide tolerances. Black Nitride
Black Nitride is also known as Ferritic Nitrocarburizing, is a thermochemical surface hardening process that involves diffusion of both nitrogen and carbon into the part. During the process, a two-part surface layer is formed, an outer iron nitride layer with a nitrogen diffusion layer below it. The result of this process is increased wear-resistance, fatigue strength, corrosion resistance, lubricity and cosmetic appeal.
